How to price your hunting
There is no official price list for hunting in Norway. But on Hunta you only set two numbers, and both have a sensible starting point. Here is how to find yours.
The two prices you set
Terrain price
What the hunter pays to be on your ground, per hunter per day. We use 300 kr per hunter per day as the reference rate. A typical booking of 2 hunters over 4 days then comes to 2,400 kr.
Harvest fee
Charged only when an animal is actually taken. You set it per species and per category (calf, hind, stag, any animal). The app pre-fills a suggestion you can change.
- Moose
- 4,000 kr
- Red deer
- 2,500 kr
- Roe deer
- 1,000 kr
Suggested fee for “any animal”.
Four things that move the price
Area
Larger contiguous ground carries more hunters and more hunting days in one season without feeling crowded.
Species and population
Big game carries a higher price than small game. A dense, well-managed population matters more than a few thousand dekar either way.
Location
Short travel, a drivable approach and nearby lodging all count. The gap between counties is real but smaller than most people assume: a few percent, not double.
Exclusivity
Sole rights for one team typically sit around 15% above ground shared by several teams. Open day cards sit about as far below.
Put a number on your season
Enter area, species and how exclusive the access is, and the price calculator gives you a conservative range for a full season. It shows the assumptions behind every figure.

Pricing low to feel safe
A price well below what others nearby charge rarely makes your ground more attractive. It makes hunters wonder what is missing. Price at the going rate and let the description explain why.
Skipping the harvest fee
With only a terrain price on big game, you earn the same whether the team takes nothing or four animals. The harvest fee is what ties your income to the actual harvest.
A price with nothing behind it
Two offers at the same price compete on everything else: access, posts, lodging, how the population actually stands. Three more sentences cost less than a discount.
Frequently asked questions
What do the two prices mean for the hunter?
The terrain price is what they pay to hunt, per hunter per day. The harvest fee is charged only if an animal is taken. The listing shows both, plus an estimated total.
Can I change the price after publishing?
Yes. You can edit the price at any time. Bookings already made keep the price they were made at.
Does the suggested harvest fee have to be used?
No. The app pre-fills a suggestion per species and category so you have somewhere to start. Adjust it to what is normal where your ground lies.
What does Hunta take?
Nothing from you. The service is free for landowners, with no fixed costs and no commission on what you earn.
