Jagt i Viken

Viken is the county where many Norwegian hunters live, and surprisingly there are also good hunting opportunities right outside the front door. Moose hunting in Aurskog-Høland and Halden has long traditions, and roe deer hunting in Østfold and Akershus provides steady yields in the cultural landscape.

The Buskerud part of Viken offers more wilderness-like experiences. Hallingdal and Numedal have large forest areas with moose, and the mountains toward Hardangervidda provide access to wild reindeer and ptarmigan hunting.

For hunters in the Oslo region, Viken is the closest alternative. You can sit at a roe deer stand an hour's drive from the Parliament, or hunt moose on the edge of Østmarka. Goose hunting along the Oslo Fjord and in Østfold has also become popular in recent years.
