Red-breasted Merganser

About shooting red-breasted merganser
The red-breasted merganser is a slender fish-eating duck with a narrow, serrated bill designed for gripping fish. Hunting usually takes place along the coast or at lakes.
It is often taken as bycatch during other seabird hunting. The merganser is fast in flight and can be a challenging target.
The meat has a distinctly fishy taste that doesn't suit everyone. Many hunters use mergansers for dog food or leave them alone.
