Getting started
How do I register as a landowner?
Create a free account at hunta.no and select "I'm a landowner" during signup. We'll then guide you through adding your first ground. Setting up your first listing usually takes 10-20 minutes.
What do I need to get started?
You need documentation that you hold the shooting rights to the area (owner or leaseholder), information about the ground (size, game types), and photos. We help you with the rest, including mapping and pricing.
Can I get help creating my listing?
Yes! We offer personal onboarding for new landowners. Get in touch and we'll help you with everything from mapping to pricing and descriptions.
How long until my listing is visible?
As soon as you've completed registration and entered all the required information, your listing becomes visible to Guns. Setting everything up typically takes 10-20 minutes.
Pricing and payments
What does Hunta cost?
Registering and publishing listings is free of charge, with no fixed costs and no commitment. Hunta adds a service fee on top of the day price you set. The Gun pays it, and it is included in the price shown. No commission is taken from your day price.
How do I set the right price?
We give you suggestions based on similar terrain in your area, game type and season. You decide the price yourself, but we recommend starting competitively to build reviews.
When do I get paid?
The Gun pays at booking. The amount sits in your Stripe account for 14 days, so a cancellation can be settled, and is then paid out to the bank account you connected at registration. The price per head is paid after the day and follows the same path.
What happens if the Gun cancels?
You set your own cancellation rules. If the Gun cancels within the deadline they are refunded, but you can also choose stricter terms to protect yourself against late cancellations.
Safety and liability
How are Guns verified?
All Guns must document that they have passed jegerprøven (the Norwegian firearms and game test) before they can book. We verify this manually, so only serious and qualified Guns reach your grounds.
What about insurance and liability?
Guns are responsible for holding valid shooting and liability insurance. We recommend requiring documentation of this before the day starts. You keep full control over who gets to shoot.
Can I decline booking requests?
Absolutely. You have full control and can approve or decline every request. You decide who shoots on your grounds.
What if something goes wrong during the day?
Damage or unforeseen incidents are covered by the Gun's own insurance. We recommend clear communication about rules and expectations up front.
Day-to-day operations
Can I limit when the grounds are available?
Yes, you have full control over availability. Block dates you want to use yourself, set seasons, and choose between day or week bookings.
How do I communicate with Guns?
Hunta has built-in chat where you can communicate directly with Guns before, during and after the day. Everything is logged and documented.
Can I set my own rules for the grounds?
Yes, you add your rules to the listing. This can include anything from weapon restrictions to dog use, access rules and reporting the bag.
What about game records?
Hunta has digital game cards where Guns register the bag. You get a full overview and can easily report onwards to the authorities.
Tax and finances
Do I pay tax on the income?
Yes, income from renting out shooting rights is taxable. We recommend recording it as business or capital income depending on the scale. Consult your accountant for advice.
Do I get documentation for my accounts?
Yes, you get a full overview of all transactions in your dashboard. You can download reports for accounting purposes at any time.
What about VAT?
Landowners pay no commission to Hunta. If you are VAT-registered, the VAT treatment of your own income depends on turnover and how you're organised. The service fee is paid by the Gun and included in the price the Gun sees.
