Even better without coverage

Even better without coverage

2 min read
The autumn hunt has been a real test of the app on ground with no network. Messages and posts now wait for coverage on their own, and you can see that what you saved actually arrived.

Where the network ends

In August we wrote that the app works without coverage. A month of red deer hunting and the first week of the moose hunt have shown us where it still rattled. That has been fixed.

What you save gets through, and you can see it

Save a harvest, a sighting or a post without coverage, and it's sent on its own when the phone gets a network again. Now you can also see that it arrived, so you're not left wondering.

The feed after coverage came back
Once coverage is back, the sighting has been sent and the 'Waiting for coverage' label is gone.

More works without a network

  • A message in the team chat waits and is sent when you get coverage
  • A post you add from the ground sheet is saved without coverage, just like from the map
  • Edit a post without coverage and the change waits for the network
  • Weather and team chat show what you last fetched
  • Without coverage, the app stops asking the network over and over

A tidier end to the hunt

A hunt that has ended doesn't come back and settle on top of a new one. And a start that's waiting for coverage is only sent once.

Thanks to everyone who has told us when something didn't work. Keep it up.
