La chasse en Møre og Romsdal

Møre og Romsdal is a red deer county. The red deer population here is among the densest in the country, and hunting has long traditions in the valleys and along the fjords. The terrain is steep and physically demanding. You hunt on hillsides that can be 45 degrees, with views over the fjord. It's something completely different from sitting at a stand in flat forest.

The county also has an underutilized opportunity for roe deer hunting in the lower-lying areas around Molde and Ålesund. Moose can be found in limited numbers in the inner valleys.

For small game hunters, the mountains on the border with Trøndelag are the most interesting. The ptarmigan terrain is often steep and windy, but populations can be good in peak years. Along the coast there is goose hunting in August and September.
